Executive DirectorWilliam Wasserman,  Executive Director

Bill has over 29 years of experience working in the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities field. He has held several executive level positions in a number of organizations serving people with developmental disabilities. He currently serves as the Executive Director of GROW Associates. His experience ranges from Vocational, Day Habilitation, Social Enterprises, Clinical, Residential, Early Intervention, Case Management as well as Forensic services. He has worked successfully with a number of Foundations and Philanthropic Programs. Over the course of his career he has had the opportunity to direct Pilot Projects including converting over a 400 person Sheltered Workshop into Supported Employment and other models of community based services (this was only the third such project, and the largest, in the country). He also directed a similar project converting a large Day Treatment program into several person centered community models. Bill served as a consultant to Cornell University’s Employment and Disability Institute, now known as the Yang Tan Institute (among a host of other organizations). Bill attended Marist College as a McCann Fellow and received a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Human Service Administration. Beyond his professional experience Bill grew up with two brothers with Developmental Disabilities.

 

Marge Cycan, Director of Finance and Business Operations

Marge has served Grow since 2005. In her role, she is involved with day-to-day accounting operations, the direction of the organization’s financial operations as well as all aspects of significance related to business operations. Marge also plays a key role in the organization’s fundraising events. Marge is a native New Yorker and has worked in nonprofits for over 19 years. She received her B.S. in Accounting from St. John’s University. Marge’s past experiences with nonprofit organization has given her a deep appreciation for improving the quality of life on behalf of people with intellectual disabilities.


Dennis Mungai, Director of Human Resources

Dennis has over fifteen years of experience in the Human services industry. Dennis holds a unique skill set as his career in the service of people with intellectual disabilities began in a Direct Service Professional role. The trajectory of his career led to advancements through service delivery to the positions related to service delivery management. Nine years ago Dennis then took his career in the direction of Human Resources. Dennis is uniquely qualified in his role as Director of Human Resources as he appreciates the nuances and responsibilities of the service elements GROW provides as well as the responsibilities and processes related to all Human Resource functions. He holds a Master’s degree in Leadership and Human Resources from Northeastern University and is a Certified Professional in Human Resources.

 

Angel F (2)Angel Feliz, Director of Employment Support

Angel and the Employment Supports team provide job coaching services to our individuals interested in independent employment. Angel previously worked for twelve years for Justice Resource Institute (JRI) as Case Manager, assisting HIV positive and homeless populations with housing search, legal services, health and benefit assistance.

 

 Wanda SWanda Soto, Director of Bistro Services

Wanda has worked at Grow for 10 years in a variety of roles, from Driver and Support Staff to Manager of the Vocational and Community Based Day Programs. Wanda has over twenty years of experience working with children and adults with mental health, behavioral, and developmental disabilities. Before coming to GROW she was a Residential Manager and Nursing Home care provider.
